The state of Louisiana is currently suffering from a major threat to add to its burgeoning twin drug problem of heroin and cocaine addiction. The recent entrant is the club drug that has become a serious concern in most parts of America, which goes by the name of methamphetamine.
Known simply by users as crystal meth or just meth, methamphetamine is one of the amphetamine drugs that have gained widespread popularity in recent times. One of the main reasons for the popularity of methamphetamine is the strong high it produces. This has made it quite popular as a club drug used in nightclubs and in rave parties in the state of Louisiana.A great contributor towards the popularity of meth addiction in Louisiana is the fact that this drug is easily available in all parts of the state. It is currently being sold at a low rate in order to make it more popular; in fact in some places it is available at lower prices than crack cocaine.
Louisiana gets an easy supply of methamphetamine from Mexico and states on the southwestern side of the state. Recently, a large number of methamphetamine producing laboratories have also mushroomed in various sneaky parts of the state from where there is a small but steady supply of drugs to the red light areas of the state.
A large proportion of people are using methamphetamine in Louisiana today. Studies haven’t been conducted to estimate any figures yet, but it is estimated that the number of people into crystal meth addiction in Louisiana is on par with the number of people in crack cocaine addiction in the state.
