The number of people entering into drug rehab in Connecticut is only growing each year. One in fifty people in the state have checked into drug rehab centers at an approximation.

Most of the people who come in are into the three main drug addictions of heroin, cocaine and marijuana, but recently the number of cases of people checking in with addictions of methamphetamine, Ecstasy and oxycontin are also alarmingly on the rise. A particular trend in Connecticut is that most people who check in for alcohol addiction treatment also have a problem with a drug addiction and the other way round.About 37% of the people who check into the various centers for drug rehab in Connecticut each year are into heroin addiction. These rehab centers treat all ages of people, and people as young as 12 years old cam also be found seeking treatment in some of them. Cocaine usage is on par with heroin, especially the crack cocaine which is obtained both from local as well as foreign regions. Marijuana is not grown so profusely in Connecticut as some of the southern states and that is the reason why the usage of this drug is low. But there is an alarming rise in the teen groups using crystal meth, MDMA and oxycontin, who invariably land up in some drug rehab in Connecticut before it gets too late.

New Haven is the haven for drug rehab in Connecticut. There are several centers for treatment of drug addiction in various parts of this city. Other popular options are Avon, Bridgeport, Bristol, Hartford, Milford and Waterbury.
